Curlew River

This was a first for Birmingham Opera Company in many ways. It was our debut performance for the BBC Proms, our first performance in the Royal Albert Hall and also the first fully staged opera at the Proms - ever! The Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, under the direction of Simon Halsey, were also making their Proms debut.

In addition to the proms performance on Wednesday 28th July 2004, the show was also staged in the CBSO centre here in Birmingham on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st July.
