Fairlawns Quartet Singouts
For the second consecutive year Accord were asked to entertain partygoers at the pre-Christmas functions at Fairlawns Hotel in Aldridge.
Thirteen nights were covered between 3rd and 23rd December 2004. Since not all members of Accord were able to do all of these dates other quartet
singers from the chorus were drafted in to ensure that the performances were delivered, and in total eight chorus members contributed to
the events. The line-up above is, left to right, Lacy Kyle (bass), Henry Foster (baritone), Steven Mobsby (tenor) and John Brough (lead). As the photograph
shows, the guys looked very photogenic in the pinks which are a special favourite at the Hotel.
As in 2003, quite apart from the Christmas festivities, there were other celebrations too including as many a five birthdays on the same day,
several wedding anniversaries, and a first for the quartet - singing for a chap while he proposed to his girlfriend.
Last year a contribution was made to the chorus in recognition of our use of club kit. This year the eight guys decided to make a contribution of
£200 to the South East Asia Tsunami Appeal. Already the Hotel management is in touch to fix up even more nights in 2005 so we must have
got the formula right again.

Taking the applause
The chorus sang three sets at the TRW Funday singout. It was an
extremely hot day, so we were pleased to be wearing our recently acquired polo shirts. We all had a great day, with
lots of things to see and do for our audience between the Anvil performances. We had to contend with singing over the
top of the bingo p.a. announcements and sports results, which we achieved with success. Our musicallity and
concentration were really put to the test, however, when they started up the drum 'n' bass over the p.a. system at full volume!
